Eagle Women's Emergency Shelter was first founded in 2000 and exists to provide integrated services to all women and their children affected by violence with a specialized focus on rural communities.
Eagle is a small but confortable short-term emergency facility whose purpose is to provide a safe, supportive environment for women and their children who find themselves in a crisis situation and in need of emergency lodging.
Our facility has two programs housed within one building. Eagle Women's Emergency Shelter is located in the lower portion of the building, while Eagle House (receiving and assessment home for youth) is located on the top floor. We are only able to take women whose children are under the age of 13 and whose partner's are not likely to follow them after they have fled.
We provide:
Lodging, food and laundry facilities
Counselling, crisis intervention, and emotional support.
Advocacy, referrals, and emergency transportation.
We also offer:
Support services, advocacy and referrals to women who cannot be admitted.
A follow-up or outreach service after a woman has left the shelter.
Outreach Services for those who are not ready to leave their situation yet.
